These structures emulate vertical bodies observed in nature, and are additionally inspired by manmade elements in landscapes. Their construction and orientation mimic the arrangements of not only kelp forests, but are informed by aquatic microorganisms, the condensed architecture of major metropolitan areas, and water towers and silos. In these works, I have drawn reference from personal memory and experience, and have attempted to arrive at a visual intersection where biological systems and manmade structures in our lanscapes coincide. Just as memories reflect our past a experiences, the shadows cast are from the objects which they represent.
